About Brian and Mike
Brian has been a Professor in the College of Engineering at Michigan since 2008. Before that, he taught at Virginia Tech (1993-2007). Brian is, at best, a casual sports fan. He has been an assistant coach for elementary school soccer/baseball teams, neither were the place to apply his insights on competitive advantage. Brian likes tennis, wishes he had better knees to run on and is a backstroke swimmer strictly to avoid having to breathe underwater. On the side, shares home with wife, Nancy, and sons Francisco and Ben. Brian appreciates everyone at home for putting up with him.
Mike is a board certified anesthesiologist and clinical analytics researcher at the University of Michigan. Mike is more the fanatic to Brian's casual sports fan. Growing up in the metro Detroit area he fully supports the Detroit Red Wings, Lions, Pistons, and Tigers. When not enjoying athletics Mike is family-orientated. He too would like to thank his wife (Liz) and son (Michael) for their support of his devotion in this project and countless others.
